Servings: 8
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 35–45 minutes
Total Time: About 1 hour
Ingredients:
1 (8-count) can Pillsbury Grands Biscuits
1 lb breakfast sausage (such as Jimmy Dean)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 small yellow onion, diced
6 large eggs
½ cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 packet peppered country gravy mix
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Cook the sausage mixture.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it apart as it browns. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the sausage is fully browned and the onions are soft. Drain excess grease if needed.
Prepare the biscuit layer.
Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. Evenly spread the biscuit pieces across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Layer the sausage.
Spoon the cooked sausage mixture evenly over the biscuit pieces.
Make the egg mixture.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
Assemble the casserole.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage layer. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
Prepare the gravy.
Make the country gravy according to the package directions. Pour the prepared gravy evenly over the casserole.
Bake.
Bake uncovered for 35–45 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through and the center is set. If the top begins to brown too quickly, loosely tent with foil.
Rest & Serve.
Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
