In & Out Burgers at Home

This is the best burger I have ever made at home. You will never want to get a fast-food burger again after you make these!

You can make these double burgers or single burgers. This recipe will make 4 burgers. If you want 8 double the recipe. They make great leftovers :)

Ingredients:

1 1/2 Cups of Chopped Onion

1/2 lb of Ground Beef

4 Tbsp. Yellow Mustard

Hamburger Buns

Salt & Pepper

Lettuce (Optional)

1 Tomato (Optional)

8 Dill Pickles (Optional)

American Cheese Slices

1 Tbsp. Butter

Sauce Ingredients:

2 Tbsp. Mayonnaise

1 Tbsp. Ketchup

2 Tsp. Relish

1/2 Tsp. Sugar

1/2 Tsp. Distilled White Vinegar

Instructions:

To make the sauce in a bowl mix your mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, sugar, and vinegar. Set sauce aside.

Form four 2" balls with your beef. Flatten the balls of beef so that they are slightly larger than your buns that you are using. Season with salt and pepper on both sides. (Keep in mind these are thin patties, about 1/4")

Heat your butter in a skillet on medium heat until melted. Add your chopped onions and 1/2 tsp of salt. Toss the onions until browned. If onions get dry at all during the browning add a little bit of water.

After the onions are browned place in a separate bowl and keep the skillet that you were using for your onions.

Butter both sides of your buns that you will be using to make your burger. Place the bun in the skillet butter side down until they are toasted. After they are toasted the buns set-aside.

Add 1/2 tbsp. of butter to the skillet and heat the skillet up on high. Once the skillet is heated place your patties on the skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes without moving them until they are well browned.

While they are browning for the first 2 minutes, spread 1 Tbsp of mustard on the raw side of each patty. (4 Tbsp. Total)

After 2 minutes is up flip the patties to the mustard side and cook for another 1 minute. Make sure the burgers are cooked before removing them from the skillet. Every stove is different. You may need to adjust the heat.

After you remove the burgers top them with cheese immediately so the cheese melts on the burger.

Now it's time to assemble your burger! Spread the sauce on both sides of the bun, add your pickles, burger, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes.

Enjoy your In & Out Burger :)
