Orange Chicken

Ingredients:

4 chicken breasts

4 tbsp cornstarch

1 tsp salt

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 tbsp butter

1 cup orange juice

1/2 cup sugar

2 tbsp rice vinegar or regular distilled

2 tbsp soy sauce

1/4 tsp fresh ginger

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Green onion for garnish

 
  1. Heat vegetable oil in pan over medium-high heat.

  2. Cut chicken breasts into small chunks and put in a bowl. Add corn starch and salt and toss to coat chicken.

  3. Add coated chicken to pan with oil & cook for about 5 minutes (until golden brown).

  4. Drain any remaining oil from pan. Turn heat down to medium and add butter to pan.

  5. In a small bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, ginger, garlic powder & red pepper flakes.

  6. Pour sauce into pan with chicken and let boil 4-5 minutes until thickened.

  7. Serve over rice, top with green onion, and enjoy!
